WHOLEISM: parts and holes

Added on by lauren frances evans.

My long awaited exhibition at Hillyer Art Space opens this Friday! Here's what they have to say about the show....

Lauren Frances Moore Evans will show both 2D collages and 3D mixed-media sculptures. Her work is influenced by an "existential understanding of holes and the desire to fill  voids." While her collages feature disembodied arms and legs layered upon one  another, her sculptures are made from materials such as hog-intestine, fiberglass, and  fake hair. Both referencing flesh to act as a  tangible metaphor, at once a barrier and a carrier of matter and meaning. Moore Evans is a  mixed-media artist in her final year of the University of Maryland's MFA program.
